Thank you for using Seller Portal and for your continued interest.

Samsung In-App Payment (IAP) Version 4.x is a legacy version released about 10 years ago and is currently used by only a very small number of apps. To enhance security, performance, stability, and support for new features, we plan to terminate the service starting July 31, 2026.

Accordingly, apps integrated with the Samsung IAP SDK 4.x will be terminated in bulk. We ask developers to migrate to the latest Samsung IAP SDK to ensure smooth service operation.

■ End Date : July 31, 2026

■ Target : All apps integrated with Samsung IAP SDK 4.x

■ What to do :

- The target apps will be collectively terminated from sale in Galaxy Store.

- Calling Samsung IAP SDK 4.x APIs will return an error.

- Failure and error messages are displayed upon a new purchase request.

Q1. How can I find APKs that use the Samsung IAP SDK 4.x?

A1. You can check usage status through the following conditions. If any of the items apply, you are using Samsung IAP SDK 4.x.

- If the legacy permission com.sec.android.app.billing.permission.BILLING is specified in the AndroidManifest.xml file

- If the build.gradle file includes the iap4Helper module dependency

Q2. Will users be able to use the app after July 31, 2026?

A2. Apps that are already installed can be run on the device, but in-app payment related functions do not work properly.

Q3. Can apps integrated with the Samsung IAP SDK 4.x be updated and re-downloaded from Galaxy Store?

A3. After July 31, 2026, apps integrated with Samsung IAP SDK 4.x will be terminated. Re-downloads are possible only for apps that are already installed. For any device on which the app is not installed, downloading the app is not possible. Updates are not supported.

Q4. How will in-app payments work for apps integrated with the Samsung IAP SDK 4.x?

A4. An error occurs when calling the Samsung IAP SDK 4.x APIs, and an error popup is displayed when attempting a new purchase.

Q5. What happens to users' previous purchase history?

A5. Purchase history for items purchased using Samsung IAP 4.x will be not be available from Samsung's servers. However, users can retain items they have purchased if the app independently maintains purchase information on the device or a separate server. Users can check all past purchase history through “Galaxy Store > Receipt > Items menu”.

1. Collected items: Samsung account ID and Samsung account information (name, email address, etc.)
2. Purpose of collection: To provide marketing communications, including information on new features, service updates, and benefits related to the Galaxy Store Seller Portal
3. Retention Period: In principle, the Company shall destroy the applicable personal information without delay after the purposes for which the information was collected and used have been achieved.
