Please refer to the improved policies of the Korea Communications Commission, implemented to create a safer and

 

more reliable mobile content payment environment for app stores and to enhance user convenience.


  

■ Ground: Article 32 (Protection of Users), Paragraph 1, and Article 50 (Prohibited Act), Paragraph 1 of

 

the Telecommunications Business Act

 

■ Improvement of the policies associated with termination of a monthly flat rate service

 

 

 

1. Notice and Procedure

 

 

 o Mark the service fees on the initial sign-up screen and description screen of the website of any additional

 

service provider using a larger font in red and bold in addition to the service termination method being described

 

in detail.

 

 

 o The name of the relevant additional service and its service fee must be specified in the monthly bill.

 

 

 o The ‘Authentication Procedure’, ‘Agreement Procedure’, and ‘Acceptance of Terms and Conditions’ must be

 

included in the sign-up procedure.

 

 

 

2. Implement system for sending notices and service terminations via text message.

 

 

 o When the user signs up for an additional service, send a notice via text message.

 

 - The service fee and termination method (contact information) must be included.

 

 

 o Make improvements to enable users to terminate services via the carrier's customer service center (114), carrier's

 

website, mobile app*, and relevant service provider's website.

 

 

 * Termination via the mobile app (improvements to be made to include at least one of the following three termination systems.)

 

  · Provide a termination button within the app, like the sign-up button for the automatically recurring monthly flat rate service.

 

  · Provide a button within the app by which users are directed to the web customer service center where they can terminate services.

 

  · Provide a bulk termination management system within app stores.

 

 

■ Improve the notification-related policies within chat apps.

 

 

In order to prevent chat app-related loss or damage in advance, provide a standardized text which includes

 

information about cyber ethics, protection of personal information, and safe payment.

 

Any indecent activities including slander, profanity, obscenity, and advertisements will be restricted in accordance

 

with the operation policies. Do not disclose your payment or personal information to others to prevent possible

 

loss or damage.
