Hello! This is the Galaxy Store Seller Portal team. Thank you for using Seller Portal and for your continued interest. We just wanted to let you know about some updates to Galaxy Store Seller Portal aimed at protecting minors, especially with new regulations coming into effect in Texas and other parts of the U.S. and around the world. Starting January 1, 2026, these new features will be rolled out for users in Texas who are using Galaxy Store for the first time. (For reference, here's the original Texas legislation: https://legiscan.com/TX/text/SB2420/id/3237346) As we mentioned back in October, we're introducing features to help you comply with the new Texas laws that take effect on January 1, 2026. You can find more details about these features in the Seller Portal guide. Here's what's new: 1. Check Galaxy Store User Age Group - The Get Age Signals API provides information on the user's age group and whether a minor has parental consent. This helps you ensure compliance with regulations. You can use this API to check if a user can purchase apps, download apps, or make in-app purchases. - For more info on implementing the Get Age Signals API, check out this link: https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy-store/galaxy-store-content-provider-api/get-age-signals.html 2. Check Parental Consent Status - You can download data from the last three months showing whether a parent has allowed their child to use your app through the Samsung Parental Controls (SPC) app. 3. Register Your App as an Exempt App - If your app qualifies as an exempt app under the new regulations, you can register it as such. Please note that determining whether your app is exempt is your responsibility. 4. Notify Users of Significant Changes - If there are significant changes that need to be communicated to users as per the regulations, minors will have their app usage restricted until further notice. - Galaxy Store will change the parental consent status to "Pending" for users of apps with Significant changes and notify parents that they need to reconfirm their consent. - You can manage and update planned Significant changes through the "Minor Regulation Compliance" tab available on the app registration and update pages in Seller Portal. We're committed to supporting developers like you in adapting to these new laws and user expectations. By complying with these regulations, we can work together to create a safer and more trustworthy app store for everyone. If you have any questions, please select Seller Portal > Support > Contact us. Thank you. Galaxy Store Seller Portal Team |
