Hello, this is the Galaxy Store Seller Portal team.
Thank you for using Seller Portal and for your continued interest.

In line with the global trend to protect minors in digital environments, recent legislative developments have begun in Texas, Utah, Louisiana, and other states across the United States, as well as in various countries worldwide. These laws impose new responsibilities on app stores and require developers distributing apps through app stores in these regions to comply with specific obligations. For details on the relevant legislation, please refer to the accompanying table.

Texas (Effective January 1, 2026)

Utah (Effective May 7, 2026)

Louisiana (Effective July 1, 2026)

These changes have significant implications for the entire ecosystem, yet the preparation period prior to the enforcement date is relatively short. To ensure compliance, Galaxy Store will provide a Partner API that identifies users' age categories and parental consent status.

To assist developers in preparing effectively, the Seller Portal will introduce features that can be configured in advance through an update scheduled for December 2025. The functionality will become operational for users starting

January 1, 2026.

While the current focus is on specific U.S. states (e.g., Texas, Utah), the scope may expand globally as similar legislation is considered in other jurisdictions.

The following key features will be added to Seller Portal:

1. New Notification Function for Apps with Significant Changes

Developers will be able to notify users of significant changes related to their apps without releasing a new version. Such notifications will inform users who have installed the app about important updates. This feature is designed to help parents and guardians stay informed and respond appropriately to major updates that may affect minors, such as changes to privacy policies, data collection practices, or the introduction of new monetization features.

2. Verify Parental Approval of an App

Developers will be able to check whether a parent or guardian has revoked approval of an app used by a minor. This functionality will support developers in complying with relevant regulations and efficiently managing user accounts.

We remain committed to providing ongoing support to help developers adapt to new regulations and user requirements. Detailed implementation guidelines and instructions for using the Partner API will be provided separately upon the release of each feature.

We kindly request your active cooperation in complying with applicable laws and creating a safe and trustworthy app environment for all users.
