Dear Seller,
This is the Seller Portal team.

We’d like to inform you the termination of service with UDP(Unity Distribution Platform).
Effective on 15th, January, 2022, UDP service will not be supported in the Galaxy Store Seller Portal.

If you distribute your app through UDP, you can continuously manage your app through Galaxy Store Seller Portal with below process.

Please check below guideline carefully.

Provide your app continuously in the Galaxy Store through Seller Portal

If you want to provide your app continuously in the Galaxy Store after the sunset of UDP, you need to proceed a few of steps and manage your app in Galaxy Store Seller Portal.

Step 1 Integrate Samsung IAP SDK

Rather than integrating UDP provided SDK, you need to integrate Galaxy Store provided Samsung IAP SDK. Here is the technical guide of integrating Samsung IAP SDK.

Step 2 Build your apk

If you integrate Samsung IAP SDK, you need to create separate build from UDP SDK integrated one. When you create it, there are two options you can choose.
※ Caution: to provide your in-app items continuously, you must use same app package name. If the package name is changed, items cannot be used in Galaxy Store dedicated version.

1) Option 1: Stay in UDP app signature
Even though you integrate Samsung IAP SDK, you can still use UDP app signature. In this case, there won’t be any issue on users’ behavior, so we recommend to use UDP app signature with Samsung IAP SDK. Please check UDP guide for the detail.

2) Option 2: Use separate app signature for Galaxy Store
Rather than using UDP app signature, you can decide to use separate app signature as because of any reason. However in this case, there are a few of works you need to do for Galaxy Store team and also for users.

A. Currently in Galaxy Store Seller Portal, your app has been registered with old signature from UDP. So, if you try to update your previous-UDP built app with new version, you will face an error and cannot upload the apk. To make this work, you need to hand over your new app signature to Galaxy Store team through Seller CS channel before you try to register the update version. We will update your signature info in our server and get back to you. You can register after this work.

B. If the signature changed, user need to uninstall the previous version and re-install with new version, as because of app update cannot happen with different signature. So, you need to let your users about this situation and guide them to delete existed app and re-install the new version. You can provide such notice in app detail page of Galaxy Store, and also within your app.

Options 2 requires additional steps for users as well, so we recommend to use option 1 to provide best experience for your customers.

Step 3 Upload your apk in the Seller Portal

When your apk is ready, please contact Seller Portal CS team to open your account to update your app.

Q&A
1. Do I need to create new account for the Seller Portal?
No, you can use current account when you’ve used for UDP content upload.

2. If I integrate Samsung IAP SDK integration, do I need to re-create in-app items?
No, you don’t need to make them again. You can keep using all legacy in-app products without any other works.

3. When registering new version of app, do we need to create new content id?
No, you don’t need to create new content id. You can use your previous content id and all data included in that content id continuously.

4. What will happen on my app if I decide not to manage in the Seller Portal?
Your app can be provided in the Galaxy Store, but you cannot update or modify your app.
